This is a list of organizations that help the military or their family members work from home. Most are free and some will pay for your training.

Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation

The mission of this program is to recruit, train and place qualified veterans in high-demand career positions and provide the skills needed to make a decent wage for themselves and their family, all of this working from home.

You do not have to have a purple heart to qualify
Must have a disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs
Must have copy of your DD-214
Paid training was available at the time of this article

StaffCentrix's Portable Career & Virtual Assistant Training Program for Military Spouses™

The objective of this Program is to train U.S. Military Spouses to build successful businesses that are financially viable, portable, and personally gratifying, thereby helping them overcome the career obstacles they often face as a result of frequent moves and sometimes-isolated posts.

Spouses wishing to be considered for the program must complete an in-depth application.
The most promising candidates are invited to attend the training program.
You must apply for the training at the base where you are stationed.
Additional requirements are listed at the site.
