The Top3WorkAtHome.net site has promoted some of the most notorious work at home/home business scams on the Internet. In fact, if you take a look at the bottom of the site’s page, you’ll see the following:

Top 3 Work At HomeThe first program listed on the image above is Web Fortune Vault. Web Fortune Vault was a scam associated with a company shut down by the Ohio Attorneys General. You can read all about that in my warning about Web Fortune Vault here.

Under the heading “Business Success Pack” in the above image, you’ll see that a program called Online Riches University is referenced. You can read my warning about that program here.

Sarah Johnson is a fake name associated with numerous bizop and work from home scams.  I have a warning about the Sarah Johnson work at home scams here. You’ll also find her on my frequently used list of fake bizop names here.

You May Be Pushing Scams To Your Friends – Without Even Knowing It

You may be promoting scams to your friends on FaceBook without even knowing it. How? Through something known as “likejacking” – which takes your clicks on another website and makes them show up as YOUR “likes” on FaceBook.

In fact, the Washington State Attorney General’s Office recently reached a a settlement with a company called Ascend Media, LLC  which the AG said used “‘likejacking’ and other misleading tactics that led Facebook users to fork over personal information or buy subscription services from sites that appeared to be recommended by friends, Likejacking has been going on since at least May of 2010 and it’s still going on today.

There are various ways it’s being done, but that doesn’t really matter to you. What matters is that you don’t let it happen so that your friends don’t think you’re promoting scams to them.

How To Stop FaceBook LikeJacking

I’ve read several ways to stop likes being generated on your FaceBook account without your permission. Here are a few:

  • Logout of your FaceBook account when you are visiting other sites. Never leave it open in the background.
  • If you have Apple devices, then only use FaceBook on iOS device (Apple devices), where it’s segregated into its own area.
  • If you use Google Chrome, you can right-click on a link and open it in incognito mode.
  • Review your FaceBook wall posts.
