Just who is Amanda Winston? Hint: she’s not who she claims to be – in fact she’s not even rea
Amanda Winston is a fake name used by many fake online news sites such as Your Daily Finance and Career Journal to promote many scams that have generated a tremendous number of complaints. She claims to be a consumer trend investigator, but the only “trends” she seems to investigating are scams she wants you to sink your money into.
And if you follow her advice, you could end up losing thousands of dollars. Some “investigator”. You could do a better investigation yourself using a stack of fortune cookies and an origami chattebox…
Here is a small sample of the fake news sites that have used Amanda Winston to promote questionable work at home business opportunities:
- News 13 Jobs Report at News13JobsReport.com
- Consumer Lifestyle Weekly at ConsumerLifeStyleWeekly.com
- Finance Job Reports at FinanceJobReports.com
- Anne Williams’ Home Web Profit (a.k.a. Web Profits From Home) at HomeWebProfit.com
- Katie Smith’s Profit Masters Academy using Angela Bussio as the spokesperson – Click here for my warning

Just wanted to add to this… Amanda Winston is also working as a reporter for the “Online Credit Journal”. She is promoting online working at home featuring laid off mom…Melissa Johnson from Bronx, NY who claims to be making between $5,000 to $8,000 a month. You also have people in the comment section saying how their first checks ranged between $350 – $800 dollars. Please be careful…if working online with these companies were making people have that much of a windfall….80% of the population would be working from home on their computers. If it’s too good to be true..it probably is. Count your costs and check into the matter (bible advice). Good luck!

Im pretty good at identifying scammers… I think…(googling names, ip, images, etc usually works) but other than making reviews, I have no hands on them (I do enjoy replying to some of their email tho… They never reply to my “congrats you won a free iphone6!”).
But im still hoping to find a legit online job. This, I cannot find so far. Any advise on this ?

I just ran across this Amanda Winston on a website that supposedly is for Weekly Jobs Report. The one advertising 5-8K per month from home. However, when you click any of the other tabs for other categories, for instance HOME or TECH, they ALL take you to the SAME site, which is NOT part of Weekly Jobs Report. The site they link to is https://www.37clicks.com/nl/ a sign up to work from home web site.
This Amanda is definitely a scam

“She” recently wrote an article about a woman who supposedly had all of this tremendous success with a work from home opportunity, and the person she wrote the story about was supposed to be from my small home town! So of course I start to research the business woman, and lo and behold, there isn’t anyone in this town by that name…what a surprise.

Just a few thoughts…
1) Paul, keep up the good fight.
2) “Kim Swartz” is in Casselberry, FL as of Sept. 14, 2014. I wonder if the people that are actually named Kim Swartz are considering legal name changes… and the Michelle Robinsons, etc.
3) Notice how the “deadline” for the 75% offer is always within the next 24-48 hours so you hurry up and blow your money.
4) The “testimonials” which I read tonight (dated between Sept. 7-14, 2014) are extremely similar (possibly word for word) to what I recall in testimonials a few weeks ago…complete with miss-spelllingz, pore gramar/werd choys.
5) To confirm for yourself that the ad is a fraud, print or do screen shots of the testimonial comments today, wait 3-4 weeks and then search for the ad again (I have found it on more than job posting board). My bet is that the testimonials will be the exact same but with the dates changed. Unless of course the people running the scam read my comments and hire someone to come up with completely new set of bogus comments for every day.
Regardless, Paul…back to comment 1 :)
Cheers
Paul Schlegel (Founder, WorkAtHomeTruth) says
Thanks, Bill. I’ve seen a couple of fake names be an issue for people with those same names. You are completely correct about the testimonials being the same across sites.
Some of these scam sites have used testimonials that can be found in past FTC complaints. You can see one of those sites here:
/profit-masters-academy-scam-analy
(Profit Masters Academy and their other sites were eventually shut down).
Grace says
Good job Paul. I just wonder who is behind the scam…?
Paul Schlegel (Founder, WorkAtHomeTruth) says
There are several different scammers that have used the name, including some that ran sites shut
down by the FTC.

That is the most recent link ..i found that link when i looked for a job at home…that was really suprised me was 1).at the bottom of the site that of Kim s, there is a link name Michelle s Brown
work at home revenue and when you click and listen carefully to the video and watch he said his name is Thomas Edwards….that lady she advertise that site all around the world changing her name ,posting different pictures some old some most recent and the main text is the same most of the time( very few changes). 2)I live in UK and i saw the cheque has wrong date …first the month and then the day…cause she supposed to cashed in sterling pounds and not in dollars. And the most important if they are millionaire s why they not have a good official website?
Be carefull its too good to be true….they use fake names fake photos-scam..better suspicious and safe.

And of course all the comment are posted few hours ago. View the code source and you’ll see that the comments has been created in 2012.
